Mazda CX-3

The Mazda CX-3 offers new technology with the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine. Despite being just about 150 cubic inches, the engine is rated at 227 horsepower (with regular unleaded). That makes for good acceleration. Couple to the engine is available all-wheel drive, which gives improved handling and traction. You also get a six-speed automatic.

Additional features include daytime running lights, power windows, and door locks, five-passenger seating, seven-inch touch screen, voice command infotainment system, six-speaker sound system, USB ports, blind-spot monitoring, and a rearview camera.

Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 has (as one engine option) the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, rated at 227 horsepower. For somewhat better fuel economy, a 4-cylinder diesel engine (2.2 liters), rated at 168 horsepower, is available.

You can get an infotainment system with a 7-inch screen, with Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, and support for Pandora. Safety features are ample, including blind-spot monitoring, stability control, LED headlights, and lane departure warning.

Mazda CX-9

The Mazda CX-9 is the most comfortable and luxurious model of the series. It can seat up to seven people and is available with leather seating, and wood trim. The driver’s seat has power ventilation, and the front seats are heated. Shifting is crisp, and handling is nimble. The interior is very quiet at highway speeds, and ride comfort is exceptional. Braking distances are quite good, and short, especially for a vehicle this size.

Audio and navigation are aided with an excellent infotainment screen, and sound system. Smartphone integration is standard, and USB ports are part of the package, as are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To round things out, you also get forward collision warning and lane-keeping assistance.
